One Month Anniversary

Wow! It is the 9th of August. Today is the one month anniversary of when I started My Dividend Dynasty! Hard to believe one month has gone by so quickly. Joining the world of blogging has been quite a new and exciting experience for me. I am normally a private person and have never blogged before. But I am finding this all very enjoyable.

With no exaggerations, the Dividend Growth Investment community is just amazing! One of the best parts of starting this blog has been interacting with other members of the DGI community. From following the amazing journeys of others, to learning new insights and fantastic knowledge, to experiencing the supportiveness of the community. The only word I can use to describe this is: amazing! And I am glad to now be a part of this community.

This has been an exciting month since I started My Dividend Dynasty. I learned a great many new things. As I written in my first post, I recently bought and moved into my own studio apartment. Thus I am now in control of all my personal finances. Experiencing, learning, and applying the art of budgeting my income versus expenses living on my own for the first time.

As opportunity would have it, within my first two days of starting My Dividend Dynasty I ended up posting my first stock purchase in six months. I look forward to collecting a growing amount of dividends from GIS for years to come. In the past month, I was also happy to post how I complete cut out transportation expenses from my daily routine. Now I am saving upwards of $1,320 per year simply by being able to walk to work and back.

Lastly, I posted my monthly dividend results for the first time. Granted it was an “off” month, but it was still a good month nonetheless. So it has been an eventful first month since I started this blog. It will be interesting to see where I, this blog, and other members of the DGI community, will be at the one year anniversary from when I started blogging.  But perhaps I shouldn’t rush time (it goes by fast enough), and enjoy each day and week as they are in real time. Thank you all for stopping by and reading.
