September 2025 Monthly Expenses
So here is September 2025’s expenses:
All in all, my expenses for September 2025 totaled: $1,658.80
I made some changes in how I track my monthly expenses. Namely, I added new categories and sub-categories.
For example, Food and Supply used to be under one category. Now they are two separate categories.
Also, Transportation expenses are now their own category with two subcategories (when needed). Previously, transportation was simply a miscellaneous expense.
I do like this break down better.
Overall, things are as expected.
My electric bill will start to decline now as the colder weather is here and my AC is off.
Dividends Vs. Monthly Expenses
I also like to compare my monthly expenses with my dividend income.
Once passive income is greater than living expenses, then financial independence is achieved!
Now let us compare my monthly expenses to my dividend income.
I will compare my expenses to my September 2025 dividends and my average yearly dividend income going forward.
As of this post, my portfolio is set to generate $16,947.58 in dividend income over the next 12 months.
- September 2025 dividend income: $2,360.11 = 142.3% of my expenses covered.
- Average monthly dividend income: $1,412.30 per month = 85.1% of my expenses covered.
