April 2019 Dividend Income

And with that April 2019 has ended and it is time to add up the dividend income. Is it my imagination or is this year going by really fast? We are now in May. It seems like it is going by faster than last year, but maybe it is just my imagination. Like all quarter starting months, April is my “off” month. On an “off” month I received the lowest amount of dividend income from the least amount of companies. Nevertheless, this was a record “off” month and an exceptionally good “off” month for dividend income! This month I received $479.33 in dividend income from six (6) companies!

Medical Properties Trust (MPW) – $225.00

Starwood Property Trust (STWD) – $103.20

Realty Income Corp (O) – $42.49

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) – $72.21

Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW) – $15.00

Cardinal Health Inc. (CAH) – $21.43

April 2019 Dividend Income Total: $479.33

This is the best “off” month yet! In fact, it is a record “off” month. This month’s numbers show a 7% year over year increase compared to April 2018. A single digit number, but a number that is moving in the right direction for an “off” month. This is also my first time receiving a dividend payment from CAH! Spring is finally here. The temperatures are rising, but the snowball is growing. Nothing demonstrates this more then April’s numerous dividend increases!

First, there is PG which raised their dividend to $0.7459 per share. This increase raised my annual forward income from $71.72 to $74.59 for a $2.87 increase from PG. Next, SO raised their dividend to $0.62 per share. This increase raised my yearly forward income from $487.20 to $503.44 for a $16.24 increase from SO.

Then there was JNJ whom raised their dividend to $0.95 per share. This increase raised my forward annual income from $57.60 to $60.80 for a $3.20 increase from JNJ. Last but not least, there was IBM which raised their dividend to $1.62 per share. This increased raised my forward yearly income from $605.96 to $625.28 for a $19.32 increase from IBM!

April was a nice month for dividend increases! The amount of all those dividend increases totaled $41.63 added to my forward annual dividend income. If you combined the amount of dividend increases with the amount of dividend income gained from my two recent stock purchases, then April saw a boost of $204.56 in forward dividend income for the year. Awesome! My portfolio, the Dividend Empire, is now expected to generate $9,768 in dividend income over the next 12 months. Getting closer and closer to crossing the $10K mark. How did the rest of you do this month? Let me know in the comments below!
