Crossing the $300K Mark in Net Worth

I am happy to report that this July I achieved another milestone: crossing the $300K mark in net worth! This first half of July saw more then just fireworks. In the first week of July, I celebrated my birthday. I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, I am another year wealthier and closer to financial independence, and on the other hand, I am one year closer to death, lol. Overall though, it was good. Next, was my 2-year blogiversary on July 9th! Wow, it has been two years already.  Thank you all for your support and for sharing your financial journeys! The DGI community is truly amazing! Finally, crossing the $300,000 milestone in net worth was the crowning achievement of the month.

It was back on October 23, 2017 that I made a blog post about crossing the $250 mark in net worth. Interestingly, in the comments section, I made a statement with regards to crossing the $300K mark. I stated that I was hoping to cross the $300K mark in two years’ time.  How did that go? Well, I managed to cross the $300K milestone in 1 year and 9 months. That is 3 months ahead of the time I was hoping to cross $300K in net worth. This is all the combination of my investment portfolio, my bank accounts (checking and savings) which amounts to a little over $14K, and the value of my apartment which stands at $104,364 (according to Zestimate).

This is the financial power of saving money, dividend growth investing, and then repeating the process! I have been able to achieve a 50% savings rate for most months and have experienced first-hand the snowball growing bigger and bigger over time. All of this is bearing fruit in remarkable ways from a growing bank account (I am building up my emergency fund) to ever increasing dividend income. This is all shaping up nicely. Crossing $300K in net worth is a great milestone! I am looking forward to the second half of the year as I continue to build up my wealth and my dividend dynasty!
