December 2018 Dividend Income

Happy New Year! It is the start of a new year. Any of you make any new year’s resolutions? I didn’t. But I did set some new goals for 2019 that will make the year even more exciting! I close 2018 collecting a record amount of dividends for a year which can be seen on my Dividend Income page. It has been a roller coaster of a year for the market. But one thing has remained consistent and that has been dividends! My forward annual dividend income has only increased to record highs. Isn’t dividend growth investing great? But without further ado, here is my December 2018 dividend income.

Pfizer (PFE) – $58.48

Southern Company (SO) – $121.80

International Business Machine (IBM) – $151.49

Target Corporation (TGT) – $44.80

VF Corporation (VFC) – $34.17

McDonalds (MCD) – $82.78

Realty Income Corp (O) – $41.45

Ares Capital (ARCC) – $371.28

Consolidated Edison (ED) – $41.47

December 2018 Dividend Income Total: $947.72

And with that, the year is over. This was not a record-breaking month, but I am happy with the results. The results of this past month show a 1.4% year over year increase from December 2017. Quarter ending months are normally my best months. Usually, PEP pays out on quarter ending months, but this time PEP is paying out in January. Otherwise, the number would have been record-breaking for a quarter ending month. Nevertheless, it is a new year and new records will be accomplished! And without further ado, I am happy to report dividend increases!

First there is O, which raised their dividend to $0.2210 per share. This raised my forward yearly dividends from $497.45 to $498.57 for an increase of $1.09. A small amount that I will gladly take! Next, PFE raised their dividend to $0.36 per share. This raised my forward yearly dividends from $233.92 to $247.68 for an increase of $13.76. Finally, there was T which raised their dividend to $0.51 per share. This raised my forward yearly dividends from $676.00 to $689.52 for an increase of $13.52. All in all, It has been a great month for dividend increases. Altogether, the total amount of dividend increases for the month of December added $28.37 to my forward annual dividend income.

My portfolio, the Dividend Empire, as of this posted is set to generate $9,315 in dividends over the next 12 months. Back in June, I have set some mid-year goals. Each goal was represented by a trophy for reach a new forward dividend income. Bronze for breaking $9100, Silver for breaking $9250, and Gold for breaking $9400. Well, I did not get the gold, but with $9315 in forward dividend income, I will take home the Silver! Overall, it was a great strive and I am happy with what I have achieved

For the year 2018, I collected a record-breaking $8,853.52 in dividend income! Year over year, that is a 11.9 % increase from the year 2017. That is awesome! Next year, in addition to goals that I recently set, I am expecting to reach two great milestones. The first is breaking the $10K in forward yearly dividend income and that second is breaking the $1K mark in dividends for a month. I am looking forward to a great 2019! How did the rest of you do this past year? Any records? Set any goals for next year yet? Let me know in the comments below!
