May 2021 Dividend Income

Time to post my May 2021 Dividend income! Can you believe just about half the year is over? Time flies when your having fun. And in a way, I guess it also flies when you’re not. In any case, May 2021 turned out to be a pretty nice month. The weather was nice and things have really opened up here in New York City. While we are still not normal yet, I believe we are entering the light at the end of the tunnel. On the budgeting side of things, the month of May is almost always my most expensive month. However, I will post on that later. But without further ado, for May 2021, I received $690.56 in dividend income from nine (9) companies.

  • T – $240.76
  • SRLP – $20.03
  • OHI – $167.50
  • PG – $28.70
  • O – $44.18
  • GIS – $52.02
  • ABBV – $42.90
  • VZ – $77.81
  • GD – $16.66

May 2021 Dividend Income Total: $690.56

Almost $700 in dividend income, which isn’t too bad. This is my “off” month where I get paid the least amount of dividend income from the least number of companies. This month’s dividend income shows 1.8% year over year growth since last May 2020. A very small increase from last year, but I will take it!  Hopefully, next year I will see a larger YOY growth rate. And now on to the dividend increases, new declarations, and the usual decrease.

      • PEP increased dividend to $1.075 per share resulting in a $6.72 increase.
      • GSK decreased dividend to $0.520 per share resulting in a $48.09 decrease.
      • LEG increased dividend to $0.42 per share resulting in a $6.56 increase.
      • CAH increased dividend to $0.4908 per share resulting in a $0.88 increase.
      • VTRS declared a dividend of $0.11 per share which equals $9.24 newly added.
      • LYB increased dividend of $1.13 per share resulting in a $12.80 increase.

All in all, this month’s dividend increases totaled $36.20.

When taking GSK’s decrease into account, I am left with a net loss of $11.89 in dividends. GSK’s lower dividend payment was expected as their dividend drops at this time every year. In addition, currency fluctuations effect GSK’s payout. Nevertheless, it was nice to see the effects of GSK’s drop mitigated by so many dividend increases. Also, VTRS declared a dividend for the first time. Therefore, I got another dividend payer in my portfolio! I plan on holding onto this stock for a while and see what happens.

Thus, this concludes my May 2021 Dividend income. I am looking forward to this June as quarter ending months are always the best. In addition, I will soon be fully reloaded to make some new stock purchases late this month. As of this post, my portfolio is set to generate $11,373 in dividend income over the next 12 months. It is onwards to the $12K milestone as I continue to build my dividend dynasty!

So, how do you do this month? Break any records? Also, what dividend increases did you received? Any cuts? Let me know in the comments below!
