September 2020 Dividend Income

And with that, we are officially in the autumn season and it is time for me to post my September 2020 dividend income! This past month has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for the market, although certainly not as turbulent as the beginning of this year. We are officially in the last quarter of the year! Let’s make the best of it. I am ready to make some new stock purchases and boost my dividend income. Trying to finish the year strong and hopefully experience no more dividend cuts (I expect D to cut this month as they announced). But without further ado, for September 2020, I received $1,307.21 in dividend income from twenty-one (21) companies!

  • Pfizer (PFE) – $65.36
  • Southern Company (SO) – $129.92
  • International Business Machine (IBM) – $157.28

September 2020 Dividend Income Total: $1,307.21

While this is not a record number of dividends, this month did see a record amount of companies paying out. This month’s dividend income shows a 13.8% year over year increase when compared to last year. Great to achieve double digit growth! Also, I received my first ever dividend payment from EMR. Now it is time for September’s dividend increases.

First up, VZ increased their dividend to $0.6275 per share. Thus, this raised my yearly dividend income from $132.84 to $135.54 for a $2.70 increase from VZ. Next, O increased their dividend slightly to $0.2340 per share. As a result, my annual dividend income increased from $526.78 to $527.90 for a $1.12 increase from O. Lastly, GIS made a welcome announcement and increased their dividend to $0.51 per share. As such, my yearly dividend income increased from $199.92 to $208.08 for a $8.16 increase from GIS. In total, September’s dividend increases amounted to $11.98 added to my forward annual dividend income.

MCD did not declare a dividend in September, but I am hoping to see another increase this month. And that is my September 2020 dividend income! Overall, another great financial month. I love these quarter ending months. My portfolio now stands to generate $10,547 in dividend income over the next 12 months. In addition, I am looking forward to make some new stock purchases this month. So how was your month? Break any records? Also, did you make any new buys (or sells)?
