With the year 2022 in the books, I think it is a good time to post my 2022 goal results and review of the year!
It was quite a year. However, the year started off pretty bad for me.
I was having some health problems and ended up in the hospital twice.
At the same time, I ending up having a bed bug problem adding on to the misery.
To top it all off, I was having my bathroom renovated and one of the workers (stupidly) broke the pipes beneath my bathtub causing a big leak and additional repairs.
I guess bad things really do come in three’s?
In any case, I made it through all that and finished the year quite well on all fronts!
Financial Review of 2022 – Dividends and Portfolio
With that, I want to start by looking at the numbers. The numbers don’t lie!
I closed the year collecting a record $13,167.34 in dividend income!
That is the most I ever received for any year.
Next, let’s look at my projected annual dividend income from start to finish over the past year.
- PADI on January 1, 2022: $12,126
- PADI on January 1, 2023: $13,558
That is a huge 11.8% increase on PADI since the first day of 2022. That amounts to $1,432 in dividends added.
In addition, this was a great year for dividend increases!
In total, dividend raises alone amounted to $756.50 in additional dividend income! Heck yeah!
My portfolio started about the year with a value of just over $300K and it has pretty much floated around there stagnate all year.
I’m not too worried about that as I am in it for the long-term!
Goal Results for 2022
For the year 2022, I set the following goals for projected annual dividend income:
- Bronze Cup: Achieve a forward annual dividend income of $13,000
- Silver Cup: Achieve a forward annual dividend income of $13,250!
- Gold Cup: Achieve a forward annual dividend income of $13,500!
So, how did I do?
I am happy to report that by closing the year with a $13,558 PADI I have achieved the Gold Cup! Woohoo!
For the year 2022, I set the following goals for new stock purchases:
- Bronze Medal: Add 3 new stocks to my portfolio!
- Silver Medal: Add 4 new stocks to my portfolio!
- Gold Medal: Add 5 new stocks to my portfolio
So, how did I do?
I am happy to report that I added 5 new stocks to my portfolio this year. Thus, I have achieved the Gold Medal!
For the year 2022, I had an additional goal of purchasing an addition 30 ounces of silver bullion.
So, how did I do?
Well, I purchased 32 ounces of silver over the course of the year! Mission accomplished!

I am hoping the year 2023 is even better!
I set new goals for 2023 for projected dividend income, new stock purchases, and silver bullion.
My ultimate goal is to surpass $15,000 this year which would be my crowning achievement.
I don’t know what the new year has in store, but only time will tell if I will accomplish this.
I am going for the gold on all fronts!
