April 2022 Dividend Income and Springtime

Time to post my April 2022 Dividend Income and a little celebration of springtime! The warm weather has finally started to arrive (granted, with small waves of cold intervals).

The one big unfortunate part of Spring is the first few weeks when my allergies kick in. My nose becomes stuffy, the area around my eyes swells up, and I start sneezing all the time. Allergies tend to hit me hardest the first few weeks as the flowers start to bloom.

After that, I am good for the summer. Strange how that works. Nevertheless, it is nice to walk the 2.4 miles to work and back during the Spring weather. As you can see from the photos below, I tend to take the more colorful and scenic route. In addition, check out the bird I spotted:

I have never seen a bird like that before. It was like a neon blue. At our Easter dinner, we were trying to figure out what kind of bird it was. Based on appearance, it seems to be an Indigo Bunting. What do you all think? Have you ever seen one before?

Other than that, it was a pretty financially active month for me.

I made two rounds of recent stock purchases within this month. Plus, I got my taxes done and an received my refund. I owed taxes to New York State, but received a tax refund from the Federal government. All in all, with the Fed minus the State, I ended up with about $700 in tax refunds.

In addition, I collected an additional paycheck at work this past month just due to the way the pay calendar was set up in the city. Also, I closed the month by purchasing an additional 10 ounces of silver. One of my goals for this year is to purchase 30 ounces of silver bullion. Well, there is the first 10 ounces!

Now for the best part: the passive income! For April 2022, I received $776.96 in dividend income from thirteen (13) companies!

  • MPW – $261.00
  • STWD – $171.36
  • O – $46.44
  • GSK – $72.41
  • ITW – $18.30
  • CAH – $22.09
  • LEG – $42.42
  • EMN – $32.68
  • GPC – $31.33
  • PPL – $25.00
  • CSCO – $17.48
  • STOR – $34.65
  • ONL – $1.80

April 2022 Dividend Income Total: $776.96

Always a nice to start a new quarter with over $750 in fresh dividend payments. This month shows a 4.6% year over year increase from April 2021. Not the most impressive growth, but I will take it. In addition, I received my first ever dividend payments from STOR and ONL. It is always cool to see new stocks paying out. Next there are April’s dividend increases!

      • PG increased dividend to $0.9133 per share, resulting in a $5.75 increase.
      • SO increased dividend to $0.68 per share, resulting in a $16.24 increase.
      • JNJ increased dividend to $1.13 per share, resulting in a $4.48 increase.
      • IBM increased dividend to $1.65 per share, resulting in a $3.86 increase.

All in all, dividend increases for April 2022 totaled: $30.33

Sweet! Over $30 added to my dividend income from increases alone. Thus, we conclude my April 2022 Dividend Income and the welcoming of Springtime! As of this post, my portfolio is set to generate $12,666 in dividend income over the next 12 months. Moving right along there!

The market has gone through some wild swings this year, but the dividends are still coming in strong. Hang in there. I will continue to invest and build my dividend dynasty!
